Don Cain was the founder of an independent insurance adjusting company and grew it to be Atlantic Canada's largest independent insurance adjusting firm with 19 offices in the region.
During the years that he presided over Gorman-Cain Limited he founded a scholarship that was made available to children of those who work in the insurance industry. This scholarship became a source of great pride for Don over the years and when he sold his firm to a national insurance adjusting company, the scholarship continued on.
Don continued in the insurance adjusting business as the Atlantic Regional Vice President of Morden and Helwig Ltd. and retired in 1996 as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Lindsay Morden Claim Services, a publicly traded company and part of the Fairfax Financial group of companies.
Don passed away on November 1, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. It is with a tremendous amount of pride that the Don Cain Memorial Scholarship is being offered by Cain Insurance Services.
Cain Insurance Services is an insurance brokerage located in Fredericton, New Brunswick and is operated by two of Don's sons; Dan and Luke Cain.
The application is to be completed and returned to Cain Insurance Services Ltd not later than July 31st.
